Legend goes that Sudhana once seeked for knowledge to the 53 saints by coming to our mortal world. Master Haiyun, abbot of Jiao Shandinghui Temple was the first saint he visited for advice. Thus came the name of it. Whenever we stepped one stair, we seemed to pay homage to a saint.

When we finished 53 steps, we accomplished our advice-seeking to the 53 saints. Just like Sudhana, we cultivated our sentiment and purified our heart.
